In the afternoon of the second day of the Navimag trip, we passed this ship run aground on a shall part of the channel. It remains here to operate as a lighthouse. The story goes that the captain had sold his cargo of sugar (kept the money), purposely crashed the ship and made a claim on the insurance saying that the sugar had dissolved when the hull was breached--then went to jail for fraud.
