Instead of letting the unofficial guides badger us while visiting this temple, we picked one out and peppered him with questions, dramatically proclaimed our amazement at each pillar, mural, etc., and begged him to let us give him a tip (even asked if he wanted more money for his efforts---which he declined!). Our reverse psychology worked perfectly, we just didn't have enough energy to keep it up for the whole day.
